Fleur Créatif - Summer 2011

The love of life…

As soon as the sun begins to shine, we are all eagerly looking forward to the summer. Summer immediately makes us dream of the holidays as well. Enjoying and relaxing, spending some leisure time with family and friends. Time to party, to dine and wine, to picnic… or just to enjoy the rest and quiet.  We prefer spending as much time as possible outdoors, where the lovely summer smells come to meet us. Herbs in the garden are refreshing. And they are also great to use in summer flower arrangements. For yourself or to take with you as a gift.

  • Robert Koene

Robert Koene studied Flower Arranging at the ‘Huis te Lande College’ secondary horticultural school in Rijswijk, The Netherlands (presently Wellantcollege), where he achieved his ‘master degree’ in 1991.

  • A season of light and lightness

Summer is a season of light, lightness, transparency, refinement and relaxation. These elements are the inspiration for the flower arrangements in this section.

  • A floral chandelier

The summer season brings light and warmth. Although extra light and warmth are not necessary, a floral chandelier gives a feeling of cosiness.

  • Xavier GOUWY

Xavier Gouwy began his training in the catering sector. He attended the hotel and catering school in Michelbeke for five years. However, he became fascinated by flowers and completed his studies by doing a specialist florist year in the Provincial Technical Institute in Kortrijk (Belgium). He also gained practical experienced with Ivan Poelman in Melle. Xavier is now 22 and before he completely devotes himself to the world of flowers, he wants to do something different and is currently working as a steward for Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium. In the meantime, Xavier is still involved with flowers on a part-time basis and he holds workshops for flower arranging enthusiasts.
